Introduction:
Theatre is the most important part of Indian cinema, with many versatile Bollywood actors having a theater background before they were popular as Bollywood superstars. International theatre institute initiated World theater day in 1961 and Jean Cocteau wrote the first world theatre day message in 1962. The theatre is the form of live performances by the performer artists in the form of dance, acting, music, and speech.
The theatre can be presented in various forms like drama theatre, musical theatre, comedy, tragedy, improvisation, etc. Indian theatre is the oldest in Asia, and many famous Bollywood actors are coming from theatre backgrounds, some of the Bollywood actors won National awards for their versatile acting in the movies.

A UNESCO-affiliated organization International Theatre Institute (ITI) first introduced World Theatre Day in 1961. The idea behind World Theatre Day was to raise awareness about the importance of Theatre in society and to promote theatre across the world. On March 27th, 1962, the first World Theatre Day was celebrated by this organization.
